Webinar Description: This webinar will talk about the incredibly diverse real-world blood feeders, including mosquitoes, ticks, bed bugs, lice and fleas. They each play a unique role in the ecosystem. Some are non-pathogenic but can cause intense itching or result in very mild illness; and others can transmit diseases to humans and animals through their bites and require appropriate precautions. We will explore the science behind these blood feeders and learn about methods to manage them.

Dr. Lucy Li

Dr. Lucy Li is currently an Associate in Extension of Public Health IPM, Department of Entomology for the University of Arizona. She has a Ph.D. degree from Purdue University in insect molecular biology, but most of her work has been in the area of IPM Extension and outreach. Lucy is currently involved in translational research on public health pests and IPM in the built environment and in American Indian Communities to reduce health threats from disease vectors and pests of public health concern.
